Brow Shaping Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about lamination, tinting and permanent brow treatments.

Brow lamination is a semi-permanent grooming treatment that realigns brow hairs using gentle lifting solution. It creates fuller, brushed-up brows and suits thin or unruly hair. Results last 6-8 weeks; patch test recommended for allergy-prone clients.

Lamination usually lasts 6–8 weeks depending on hair growth and aftercare. Brow tints stay visible for 3–6 weeks, while henna can last up to 6 weeks on hair and longer on skin. Touch-ups maintain shape and colour.

Permanent hair-stroke (microblading) causes mild discomfort; numbing cream minimises sensation. Risks include infection, pigment migration or allergic reaction if aftercare or practitioner skill are lacking. Choose certified artists and follow pre/post care to reduce complications.

Micro shading deposits pigments in a soft, powdered effect across the brow for fuller-looking density. Ombre brows offer a gradient, darker tail and softer front for a makeup-like finish. Both can complement hair-stroke techniques.

Avoid water, steam and heavy sweating for 24–48 hours after tinting or lamination. For permanent treatments, keep brows dry for 7–10 days per artist instructions to ensure pigment retention and proper healing.

Henna is plant-based and often gentler, but it can still cause reactions. We recommend a patch test regardless of tint type. Tell us about allergies and sensitivities so we can choose hypoallergenic pigments or alternative methods.
