Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Under Arm Waxing.
Most clients enjoy three to six weeks of smooth underarms after Under Arm Waxing. Timing varies with individual hair growth cycles, hormones, and maintenance routines. Regular appointments can extend intervals as hair becomes finer and sparser over time.
Discomfort varies by tolerance and hair thickness. Most describe a quick, sharp tug that dissipates immediately; our technicians use gentle techniques and soothing pre/post treatments to minimize pain. Numbing options are available for very sensitive clients upon request.
Exfoliate gently 24–48 hours before to remove dead skin and help prevent ingrown hairs. Avoid deodorant, heavy creams, or perfumes on the day of service. Ensure hair is about a quarter inch long for best waxing results.
Avoid heavy exercise, hot baths, saunas, and deodorants for 24 hours to reduce irritation and infection risk. Apply calming aloe or antibacterial creams as advised. Exfoliate lightly after 48–72 hours to prevent ingrown hairs and maintain smoothness.
Hair should be about 1/4 inch (roughly 6 mm) for the wax to grip properly. If hair is too short waxing may not work; if too long, a light trim improves comfort. Our team can trim if needed before waxing.
Waxing removes hair and trapped bacteria, which can reduce odor temporarily. Regular waxing also lessens ingrown hair risk by reducing regrowth thickness, though proper exfoliation and aftercare are essential to prevent and treat ingrown hairs long-term.
